Guide housing transmitter

The Testo housing transmitter for the universal connection of resistance sensors and thermocouples. All common temperature probes (Pt100/Pt1000 ) in two, three or four-wire technology and thermocouples can be connected.

What is a transmitter?

They are also known as transmitters, transducers, signal converters or simply converters. They are used to convert physical measured variables such as temperature, humidity, differential pressure etc. into standardized electrical signals.

In the case of a temperature transmitter, the measured variable to be converted is temperature.

The input signal is a resistance value for resistance-based temperature probes and a voltage value for thermocouples. The output signal is usually either 0 10v or 4 20ma. Historically, however, there are also 0-1 V / 0-5 V or 0-20 mA signal.

 

What are housing transmitters and what are they used for?

The housing transmitter is the ideal link between the temperature probe and your control system. Thanks to the innovative plastic housing with a tool-free rotating cover closure and the good use of space inside the transmitter, installation is quick and easy. Whether for retrofitting or new installation, our enclosure transmitter is optimally designed for use in plant and mechanical engineering and is characterized by high accuracy, reliability, long-term stability and its robust product design.

 

What types of housing transmitters are there and what are the differences between them?

There are different types of housing transmitters. We offer you our transmitters with the output 4 20ma and 0 10v output.

You can connect a Pt1000, a Pt100 or different thermocouples. You can choose between an analog output of 4 20ma or 0 10v.

How are housing transmitters installed and used?

Thanks to the four slotted holes, the housing can be easily attached to the wall. The openings for the screws are outside the protective space for the electronics, so no sealing is required. The cable glands ensure a seal on the probe or data cable, even for different diameters.

Mounting materials for installing the transmitter (screws and dowels) are included with the transmitter as free accessories. We also offer a large range of temperature probes and connection cables as an option.

Important: To prevent measurement errors, the connecting screws for fastening the connecting cable must be firmly tightened.

What are the advantages of housing transmitters compared to other types of transmitter systems?

Housing transmitters have many advantages, such as accurate measurement, easy installation and integration into existing systems, high durability, reliability and the ability to connect different temperature probes and thermocouples.

What features and specifications should be considered when choosing a housing transmitter?

Factors such as measuring range, output signal and power supply should be considered when selecting an outdoor transmitter. With our DIP switches you have a choice of 16 measuring ranges. The Pt1000 class B sensor is used for temperature measurement.

As output we offer you the voltage output 0 10v and the current output 4 20ma. The power supply is 12 to 36 VDC.
