Guide Plug-in transmitter with head

With the plug-in transmitter with head, the temperature measurement signal can be transmitted safely, easily and over long distances to the control system or equipment. By using our immersion sleeves or our mounting flange in the accessories, they are suitable for mounting in pipelines, vessels or plants.

In the following guide you will find the most important information

  1. What is a transmitter?
  2. What are plug-in transmitters with head and what are they used for?
  3. What types of plug-in transmitters with head are there and what are the differences between them?
  4. How are plug-in transmitters with head installed and used?
  5. What are the advantages of plug-in transmitters with heads compared to other types of transmitter systems?
  6. What features and specifications should be considered when selecting a plug-in transmitter with head?

1. What is a transmitter?

They are also called transmitters, transducers, signal converters or simply transducers. They are used to convert physical measurands such as temperature, humidity, differential pressure, etc. into standardized electrical signals. In a temperature transmitter, the measurand to be converted is temperature. The input signal is a resistance value for resistance-based temperature probes and a voltage value for thermocouples. The output signal is usually either 0 ... 10 V or 4 ... 20 mA. Historically, however, there are also 0-1 V / 0-5 V or 0-20 mA signals.

2. What are plug-in transmitters with head and what are they used for?

Our plug-in temperature transmitters with terminal head form B measure the temperature and output it as a standardized signal (4 - 20mA or 0 - 10 V). They can be installed directly in contact with the medium or using immersion sleeves with a G1/2 " process connection or a mounting flange, which can be mounted on the thermowell. The areas of application are e.g. pipelines, vessels or plants.

3. What types of plug-in transmitters with head are there and what are the differences between them?

There are different types of plug-in transmitters with head. We offer our plug-in transmitters with connection head form B and different output signals.

In the active temperature probes the sensor Pt1000 class B is installed and you can choose between an output of 4-20 mA or 0-10 V.

Configuration of the items

In these temperature transmitters, you can determine which mounting length you need and thus determine the immersion depth for these items. The protection tube is made of stainless steel 1.4571 | 316TI. You can choose from the following mounting lengths (in mm):

200, 250, 300 und 400

You can also choose the screw connection of the connection head. We offer the following screw connections: Cable gland, M12 plug connector, pressure screw.

4. How to install and use plug-in temperature transmitter with head?

Plug-in temperature transmitters with head and fixed measuring insert can be installed and configured easily and quickly. By DIP switch, you can quickly set your required measuring range. By using an immersion sleeve with G1/2 " process connection or by using a mounting flange, the transmitters can be installed quickly and easily.

5. What are the advantages of plug-in transmitters with head compared to other types of transmitter systems?

Plug-in temperature transmitters have many advantages, such as accurate measurement, easy installation and integration into existing systems, high durability and reliability.

6. What features and specifications should be considered when selecting a plug-in head transmitter?

Factors such as measurement range, output signal, power supply, and environmental conditions should be considered when selecting a plug-in transmitter. With our DIP switches, you have a choice of eight measuring ranges at temperatures from -20 °C to 600 °C. For temperature measurement the Pt1000 class B sensor is used.

As output we offer the voltage output 0-10 V and the current output 4-20 mA. The ambient temperature of the transmitters is between -30 °C and +70 °C. The power supply is 24 V AC ⁄ DC (± 10 %) for the voltage variant and 15 - 36 V DC for the current variant.
